Sheila Greeve Davaney is the Harvey H. Potthoff Professor of Christian Theology at Iliff School of Theology. Her most recent authored or edited publications include Historicism: The Once and Future Challenge For Theology; Identity and the Politics of Scholarship in the Study of Religion (edited with José Cabezón); Pragmatic Historicism: A Theology for the Twenty-first Century; Converging on Culture: Theologians in Dialogue with Cultural Analysis and Criticism (edited with Katherine Tanner and Delwin Brown) and Horizons in Feminist Theology (edited with Rebecca Chopp). Her areas of research include modern western thought, feminist theory and theology, historicism and pragmatism. Dr. Davaney is senior Editor for the Christianity Section of Blackwell’s Religion Compass, co-director of the AAR Project on “Contesting Religion and Religions Contested: The Study of Religion in a Global Context” and a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of the American Academy of Religion. She also serves on the Board of Directors of Denver Public Broadcasting Station KBDI Channel 12.
