Colorado Spirituality Conference

Description: As a member of the Progressive Christian Alliance, the Iliff community is invited to the Colorado Spirituality Conference – Eyes of the Heart.

Friday Evening, 7 p.m.
Cultivating Eyes of the Heart

In mystical traditions, cultivating “eyes of the heart” means to see from a place of wholeness and integration. Rather than looking or scanning the world, we are called to gaze with compassion.

Becoming a Monk in the World

The inner monk invites us to spacious rhythms, silence, and solitude as ways to connect to a deeper source of truth and wisdom. To become a monk in the world is to bring this gift wherever we are.

Saturday Afternoon, 1 p.m.

Becoming an Artist of Everyday Life

The inner artist invites us to pay attention to what brings us alive and give it form as a way to discover deeper meaning to our days. To become an artist in everyday life is to recognize that creativity is integral to the sacred art of living.

Christine Valters Paintner- author, teacher, registered expressive arts consultant and educator (REACE), and Benedictine Oblate living as a monk in the world – will support us in claiming our own inner monks and artists through reflections and creative practices. We will explore together the impact on the world of a life committed to creating space for new possibilities to emerge.

Brad Berglund – well-known contemplative and Celtic musician – is the conference musician and liturgist.

Date: Friday and Saturday, Jan. 11-12, 2013

Location: Arvada Center for the Arts, 6901 North Wadsworth, Arvada, CO
