Community Chapel: A Conversation About Blessing the Community
Description: International church consultant Tom Bandy and Adjunct faculty member Tom Barlow will lead “A Conversation About Blessing the Community” in the context of prayer and song.
A booksigning will follow worship at noon. Relevant to the theme of the day are Bandy’s books: See, Know and Serve (Aug 2013), Why Should I Believe You? (2007 in response to the UMC ministry study), and GPS: Global Positioning for the Soul (a book on spiritual yearning and seeker sensitivity that relates both to Methodist roots and his work with Paul Tillich).
Bandy has suggested that the purpose of the Christian church is to engage in blessing its community. His recent work also challenges congregations to thrive through setting clear and significant spiritual expectations of lay leadership.
