Iliff on the Road: “John Wesley’s Journals,” Prof. Debbie Creamer, Highland’s Ranch

Description: Interim Dean Debbie Creamer, associate professor for theological bibliography, leads a Sunday morning glimpse at “John Wesley’s Journals” as a part of the Pathways adult ministries program at St Andrew UMC (Highlands Ranch).

The St. Andrew Harmon library houses first edition copies of John Wesley’s journals and works, giving us a unique look into the thoughts, feelings and actions of the founder of Methodism. The session will look at Wesley’s life from the texts, explore how these journals came to be preserved, and look broadly at the role of primary and first-person sources such as letters and journals. The class will discuss why and how we might think about telling and preserving our own stories today.

Date: Oct. 28, 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Location: St. Andrew United Methodist Church, 9203 S. University Blvd., Highlands Ranch, CO 80126
