Insiders Tour: Women in Church Leadership

Description: Iliff Insider’s Tour will feature “Women in Church Leadership” with a panel discussion on the book Women, Church, and Leadership: New Paradigms. The book is the product of collaborative work among eight female theologians and nine church leaders to provide a useful resource for the renewal of church leadership. The panel will feature Iliff women faculty and an Iliff alumna who contributed to the book in honor of Jean Miller Schmidt, Gerald L. Schlessman Professor Emerita of Methodist Studies.

Eunjoo Kim, associate professor of homiletics, will facilitate the panel discussion with contributing authors Debbie Creamer, interim dean of the faculty, Amy Erickson, assistant professor of Hebrew Bible, Melanie Rosa (MDIV ’84 and DMIN ’05), RMCUMC district superintendent, and Katherine Turpin, associate professor of religious education, with an introduction of Miller Schmidt by Tink Tinker, Clifford Baldridge Professor of American Indian Cultures and Religious Traditions.

The book signing reception will include hors d’oeuvres and refreshments from 6-6:30 p.m., program, panel discussion, and remarks by Jean Miller Schmidt, 6:30-8 p.m. The final half hour will provide the opportunity for book signing and further conversation.

Proceeds from Fall Insider’s Tour will support scholarships for women at Iliff.
