Iliff at Home Salon: Professor Edward Antonio, “Iliff in Africa: Opening New Possibilities”

Description: Iliff at Home Salon will feature Edward Antonio, associate dean of Diversities and Harvey H. Potthoff Associate Professor of Christian Theology and Social Theory, presenting a program, “Iliff in Africa: Opening New Possibilities.” Dr. Antonio’s presentation will include a recap of Iliff’s November 2014 immersion trip to South Africa and Zimbabwe.

Iliff at Home Salons provide a unique opportunity to hear and discuss theological subjects with noted scholars in a private setting. Reservations are required for this presentation & dessert reception. Proceeds support scholarships for women students at Iliff.

Iliff on the Road: Hinduism: Ancient and Modern

Description: St. Andrew Scholar Series presents a course, “Hinduism: Ancient and Modern,” taught by Dr. Jacob Kinnard, professor of comparative religion. This course presents an introduction to the complex world of Hinduism in India. Along the way, the class will explore such topics as: the changing conceptions of sacrifice; the inquiries into the nature of the self; the nature of the Ultimate; the role and development of devotion; mythology; ritual and its functions; and the intersection of religion and politics in India.
