Iliff on the Road: Creation and Creativity, Professor Amy Erickson, Highlands Ranch

Description: Amy Erickson, assistant professor of Hebrew Bible, will lead “Creation and Creativity” a class in the Scholar Series, a program of Pathways at St. Andrew United Methodist Church. The class meets four Mondays, Feb. 6-March 5 (not 2/20).

Erickson will explore the ancient socio-cultural background of a number of creation texts in the Hebrew Bible, particularly those found in Genesis, Exodus, Psalms, Proverbs, and Job. She will also examine the relations among God, humanity, and nature that are presupposed by the creation texts; the role of gender in the biblical views on creation; and the impact of eco-justice hermeneutics on biblical interpretation.

A free-will offering is requested for all St. Andrew Scholar Series classes.
