Iliff on the Road: Clergy and Laity United for Economic Justice, Prof. Miguel De La Torre, CA

Description: Miguel De La Torre, professor of social ethics, is a plenary speaker at the Clergy and Laity United For Economic (CLUE) Justice Conference in California. CLUE-CA a new organization that aims to end low-wage poverty in California by building a faith-rooted movement for economic justice throughout the state. In the recognition that economic justice is a human rights issue, the organization actively supports the intertwined issues of civil rights and immigrant rights. Drawing upon the unique resources of faith traditions, CLUE-CA provides a moral framework for the economic debate, empowers workers, and engages clergy and congregations in economic justice campaigns.

Korbel Lecture Series: Religion and Violence, Prof. Peter Van Arsdale

Description: Korbel Lecture Series will continue into the winter quarter with Professor Peter Van Arsdale speaking on “Religious Violence and Religious Ritual: The Two Sides of Headhunting.”
A discussion will follow the lecture led by panelists:
