Iliff’s Justice and Peace Program has announced a 15-day immersion learning trip to Zimbabwe and South Africa to take place in 2013. Under the direction of Professor Edward P. Antonio, director of Justice and Peace Program, this opportunity is open to Iliff students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of Iliff. Professor Antonio is originally from Zimbabwe.

The cultural immersion learning program aims to develop partnerships with communities both near and far, to extend cross-cultural understanding, ally ship and to promote global diversity.

The trip will explore and highlight global poverty relative to health, wealth and privilege, the legacy of colonialism, and the role of religion and Christianity in struggles for social justice. Participants will have opportunities to work with poor communities on different development projects. The program is meant to assist participants in cultivating and nurturing a sense of compassion and justice for the global poor.

Timeline: Fall Quarter 2013; The trip will occur November 15-29, 2013. The cost will be $4100 for current Iliff students, and $5000 for all
other non-students. Students may register to receive 2 credit hours for their participation. Trip will depart from Denver International Airport.
