“As one of the area’s leading interfaith leaders, Greg’s professional development expertise is well-known. We are honored to have him join us to help raise awareness and support for Iliff’s mission,” said Thomas Wolfe, president and chief executive officer. “His strong commitment to nurturing and building community relationships that foster strong support for progressive theological education will benefit the school for many years.”
Movesian will join the school Nov. 1. In his position, he will be responsible for overseeing the advancement activities for the school, including comprehensive fundraising efforts, stewardship, and scholarship programs.
“I’m excited to be working with Iliff. In an age when institutional religion is under tremendous pressure, Iliff plays a unique role in reaching out to people to help them find spiritual disciplines that are beneficial and relevant for their lives,” commented Movesian. “Iliff is strongly committed to advancing peace and justice issues, and I am looking forward to helping faculty and students enhance their ability to garner the resources they need to flourish in their academic pursuits and advocacy as progressive voices of faith.”
Movesian joins Iliff after serving as the chief development officer, Girl Scouts of Colorado, where he increased revenue from $972,000 to more than $1.7 million over three fiscal years. He has also served as canon steward, Saint John’s Episcopal Cathedral for nine years, where he worked as chief development officer and as the Cathedral’s liaison to the ecumenical and interfaith communities. His professional experience includes work with Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains, The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, University of Denver, and extensive management of capital and endowment campaigns for religious institutions.
Active in a number of organizations, Movesian has served on a number of local and national boards, including the Board of Directors for Colorado Preservation, Inc., Denver Botanic Gardens, The Interfaith Alliance, the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice, and the Consortium of Endowed Episcopal Parishes.
