Rhonda Jackson, master of divinity student, has been awarded a Summer Fellowship by The Beatitudes Society. Rhonda will be serving at The Council for a Parliament of the World’s Religions in Chicago, IL.

Jackson is part of the 2008 class of 20 summer Fellows who will serve as interns at social change organizations in Washington, the San Francisco Bay Area, and Chicago. From June 9 to August 1, Fellows will work full time at their agencies and also participate in weekly theological reflection sessions facilitated by a local mentor.

The Beatitudes Society develops and sustains emerging Christian leaders at seminaries and divinity schools who will “advocate for justice, compassion, and peace as expressed in the Beatitudes of Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount; counter the Christian Right; and articulate a Christianity that speaks and acts for our planet and our most vulnerable citizens.”
