SERIES 1 : CORRESPONDENCE Boxes 1-3 Dates Contents Description 1966-1988 Arranged as found, primarily chronologically. Includes letters received and sent on a wide variety of topics. Correspondence with publishers may be found in Series II, Publication. Correspondence with professional societies may be found in Series VI, Professional Societies. SERIES 2 : PUBLICATIONS Boxes 4-20 Dates Contents Description 1960-1989 Arranged by type of manuscript: books, chapters in books, journal articles, lectures, professional papers, and unpublished manuscripts. Arranged chronologically within these groups. Research notes, drafts, manuscripts, final published forms, and correspondence are included when available. This section also includes Dr. Hargrove's Masters thesis and Ph.D. dissertation, diaries, and papers written while still a student at Colorado State University. SERIES 3 : COURSEWORK Boxes 21-26 Dates Contents Description 1973-1988 Arranged as found, primarily by course topic and then generally in chronological order. Contains Dr. Hargrove's notes, preparations, lecture outlines and houdouts for courses taught druing her career. SERIES 4 : ILIFF Box 27 Dates Contents Description 1984-1988 Arranged as found by document types and then chronologically within type. Includes papers generated by Dr. Hargrove's service as Division III, Chairperson, 1987-1988. Includes self-evaluations and other official school papers. SERIES 5 : PROFESSIONAL SOCIETIES Boxes 28-43 Dates Contents Description 1970-1988 Arranged primarily as found, by topic and then chronologically. Includes letters and papers generated as a result of Dr. Hargrove's active participation in professional societies. Includes materials from her research involvement in "Operation Grassroots" and the "New Religious Consciousness Project." SERIES 6 : CHURCH AFFAIRS Boxes 44-45 Dates Contents Description 1971-1988 Arranged first by type and then chronologically. This Series well documents Dr. Hargrove's long and active involvement in various aspcts of church affairs. Includes sermons, prayers, and meditations, professional papers, and various committee assignment papers. SERIES 7 : SUBJECT FILES Boxes 46-47 Dates Contents Description 1970-1988 Arranged by the Archivist by subject. Dr. Hargrove was interested in everything concerning the sociology of religion. She collected clippings, photocopies, brochures, and pamphlets. She overlooked no source of information. These materials satisfied her intellectual curiosity, and they became possible contenders for academic research. The holdings were truly vast - boxes throughout her office were filled. A select few topics have been saved for inclusion with her papers. SERIES 8 : MISC. Boxes 46-47 Dates Contents Description NONE Desk papers and office items SERIES 9 : BOOKS Boxes 48 Dates Contents Description NONE No arrangement. Dr. Hargrove's family donated her large library to the Iliff School of Theology. SERIES 10 : PERIODICALS Boxes 48 Dates Contents Description NONE No arrangement. Dr. Hargrove's family donated her collection of periodical titles to the Iliff School of Theology. This Series includes a listing of periodical titles removed from Dr. Hargrove's office. SERIES 11 : BIOGRAPHICAL Boxes 48 Dates Contents Description NONE Arranged by type. Includes miscellaneous biographical materials, vitae/resume, newspaper articles about Dr. Hargrove, and obituaries and tributes. Correspondence with her family concerning unfinished business is also included. SERIES 12 : COMPUTER DISKS Boxes 49 Dates Contents Description NONE Arranged as found in no particular order.
