The eight-year project (with H. Edward Everding and Mary Wilcox) studied a developmental interpretation theory in a longitudinal study using a random sample of entering/exiting Iliff students from three generations. The study investigated the relationship between students’ cognitive structural development and interpretive styles, to discover how adults interpret meaning, symbols, texts, etc. Snelling later compared results with cross-cultural studies in Mexico, China, Korea, and Zimbabwe, further to validate findings among comparable sample student seminarian groups in those countries. |
