The Taylor Library subscribes to a number of online databases in which you can search for articles in scholarly journals as well as magazines. Current students, faculty and staff may request information about off-campus access from Circulation staff (303-765-3173) or the Reference and Instruction Librarian (303-765-3179; E-mail).

  • FirstSearch Databases
    • Article First - Tables of contents from over 15,000 scholarly journals, 1990 to the present. Updated daily.
    • ATLAReligion - Includes a full range of index citations to articles, essays in multi-author works, and book reviews from over 1,550 religious and theological journals, including international titles. It spans over 50 years with selected records dating back to 1818. Updated quarterly. Some full-text articles.
    • ClasePeriodica - Indexes more than 300,000 bibliographic citations from documents published in 2,600 scholarly Latin American journals in the Spanish, Portuguese, French and English languages. Covers a full range of disciplines including religion, philosophy, anthropology, psychology, sociology. Updated quarterly.
    • ECO - Indexes articles since 1995 from over 4,800 scholarly journals in all disciplines. Abstracts and full-text articles from journals to which Taylor Library subscribes. Updated daily.
    • PapersFirst - Indexes papers presented at conferences worldwide since 1993. Updated twice monthly. Papers may be purchased online or requested through Interlibrary Loan.
    • Philosopher Index - Covers all fields of philosophy plus philosophy of related fields such as religion, education, history and law. Updated quarterly.
    • ProceedingsFirst - Index of worldwide conference proceedings since 1993. Updated twice a week.
    • WorldCat - Catalog of books, maps, musical scores, sound and video recordings, web sites, and other materials in libraries worldwide. Publication dates go back before 1000 BC. Updated daily. Easiest way to make Interlibrary Loan requests (for instructions, see our Interlibrary Loan page).
    • Ebooks - Catalog of online electronic books available through libraries worldwide.
    • ERIC – References to both journal articles and nonjournal materials on adult education, disabilities, educational information & technology, etc. Updated monthly.
  • EBSCO Databases
    • Academic Search Premier - Provides full-text of articles since 1975 from over 4,600 scholarly publications spanning virtually all academic disciplines. Updated daily.
    • Old Testament and New Testament Abstracts - Indexing and abstracts for journal articles, monographs, multi-author works, and software related to biblical studies.
    • Business Source Premier - Indexing and full text from scholarly business journals and other publications
    • Fuente Academica - A unique collection of scholarly academic journals from renowned Latin American, South American and Spanish publishers. This database provides full text coverage (including PDF) for more than 200 scholarly Spanish language journals. Content is provided in Spanish.
    • Catholic Periodical & Literature Index (CPLI) - Covers all aspects of the Catholic faith and lifestyle, including over 380,000 index citations of articles and reviews published in Roman Catholic periodicals, Papal documents, church promulgations, or produced by Catholic publishers
  • Religious and Theological Abstracts
    Provides abstracts of articles from scholarly religious and theological journals, including English-language abstracts of articles published in Hebrew, Afrikaans, and major European languages.
  • Index Theologicus
    Document descriptions from more than 600 periodicals and from Festschriften and congress publications.
  • Religion Online
    More than 5,700 chapters, interviews, monographs, speeches and articles by scholars in religion and theology, with biographical sketches of some authors. Searchable by author, category, or keyword.
  • Research in Ministry
    Indexes DMin and DMiss projects from reporting schools of theology accredited by the ATS in the US and Canada. Indexing began in 1981. Author, title, project advisor, institution, and subject access are provided. Abstract is included when provided by the author.
  • Review of Biblical Literature
    Contains free online reviews of recent books in biblical studies and related fields. It seeks to be comprehensive, international in scope, and timely.
