Iliff School of Theology to Participate in Colorado Gives Day

DENVER – Iliff School of Theology announces its support of Colorado Gives Day 2012– an initiative to increase philanthropy in Colorado through online giving to Colorado charities. Presented by Community First Foundation and FirstBank, Colorado Gives Day is a 24-hour period to “Give where you live” by making online donations to the hundreds of charities featured on Community First Foundation’s online giving resource, GivingFirst.org. As a profiled charity on GivingFirst.org, Iliff will benefit from this initiative.

As a first-time participant in the program, Iliff has made Colorado Gives Day a part of our community’s end-of-year giving promotions through direct mail, phone-a-thon, and online updates.

“We are honored to be a part of this year’s Colorado Gives Day. As a local nonprofit, with a considerable percentage of our graduates working in nonprofit associations, we recognize the value of bringing local communities together in support of the charitable sector – and Colorado Gives Day is an ideal outlet for raising awareness of the need to support organizations like ours,” said Albert Hernández, PhD, interim president and CEO.

The Iliff School of Theology is a graduate theological school related to the United Methodist Church, serving more than 38 different faith traditions. Founded in 1892, the school provides several degree programs, including a Joint Ph.D. Program with the University of Denver.

Community First Foundation helps donors and nonprofits come together to improve quality of life in the Denver metro area. We use our resources to fund community programs, support the services of nonprofit organizations, and assist individuals with charitable giving. By monitoring the pulse of the community, we create new and innovative programs such as GivingFirst.org, an online giving resource, and Colorado Gives Day, an initiative that inspired Coloradans to donate more than $12.4 million last year. We’ve been serving the community since 1975.
