A message from Iliff’s President to the Iliff Community over the weekend:

It is an honor to share with you news from the Western Jurisdictional Conference of the United Methodist Church that just concluded yesterday in Scottsdale, AZ. The delegates of the conference have elected to be bishop, the Rev. Dr. Karen Oliveto, currently the Senior Pastor of Glide Memorial UMC in San Francisco. Effective September 1, Bishop Oliveto will serve as our episcopal leader in the Mountain Sky Area. I am delighted to report that Bishop Oliveto, as the appointed bishop in our area, will be joining Iliff’s Board of Trustees. On a personal note, Bishop Oliveto and I were classmates in seminary when we attended Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, CA. I look forward to the opportunity, with all of you, to extend a warm Iliff welcome to Bishop Oliveto. I have already extended my personal congratulations.

Our current episcopal leader, Bishop Elaine Stanovsky has been appointed to serve the Pacific Northwest, Oregan-Idaho, and Alaska Conferences. I am grateful for her ministry among us and her support of Iliff. We will have a time in the near future to more formally express our gratitude and wish her well.

I will share announcements regarding our plans for offering farewell and welcome during this time of transition of our episcopal leaders.

Rev. Dr. Tom Wolfe
