April 21, 2020

Dear Members of the Iliff Community:

I write to update you regarding the status of access to Iliff’s building in light of Governor Polis’ press conference last evening.  Effective April 27, the Governor will initiate a change in the Stay at Home order to that of Safer at Home.  Under the new order, Coloradans are still encouraged to still stay at home as much as possible.  There will be a staged opening of retail stores, restaurants in the weeks to follow.   More details are forthcoming from the Governor.  Recognizing that there is much work to do, all persons are urged to continue to exercise social distancing.

Out of a continued abundance of caution, Iliff School of Theology will continue its original plan of keeping the building closed through May 16.  Iliff continues to be in full operation with faculty and staff working remotely.  The Senior Leadership Team continues to monitor the situation and has formed a committee to set forth plans that assures the safety and addresses the anxiety of our community members whenever the appropriate time comes for it to open the building.

As these days of social isolation drag on, I am grateful for the spirit of care that has undergirded everyone’s work and study.  Your actions have contributed to helping reduce the spread of COVID-19 within our region and across the globe.  And, your efforts have enabled Iliff to continue to serve its deep purpose.

Blessings to all of you,

Tom
