Dear Members of the Iliff Community:

In the past weeks, the coronavirus cases have been steadily rising across the state. At his bi-weekly news conference on Tuesday afternoon (July 28), Colorado Governor Jared Polis is urging Coloradans to scale back on behavior that had contributed to the rise in the cases.

Taking into consideration our plan to be fully online for fall quarter and the growing concern that the increase in coronavirus cases has continued, the Pandemic Planning Committee recommends and the Senior Leadership Team has decided to extend the closure of our building through October 9.

The Pandemic Planning Committee is also in the process of developing a staged re-entry plan for the eventual reopening of our building. This includes ensuring that the needed safety precautions and protocols are in place.  We will share the proposed plan once it is finalized.

We also continue to evaluate the situation by closely monitoring the data and guidelines from the WHO, CDC, OSHA, Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment, Colorado Department of Higher Education, State of Colorado, and the City and County of Denver, and making the appropriate preparations should conditions allow for a change in our decision. Please note that we will be providing another update on the status of reopening the building on October 1.

Above all, I want to recognize all of you for your commitment to working remotely over these last few months. Stay safe and have a wonderful rest of the summer.

Blessings,

Tom
