“Gabe” comes to us with seven years of higher education experience in student services and admissions. Most recently, he served at Emily Griffith Technical College as an academic advisor. Prior to his work at Emily Griffith, he served at the Community College of Aurora as an admissions counselor and as the internship coordinator and course instructor for career services.

Before Gabe’s higher education experience, he worked in the hotel industry for five years including as the assistant general manager at the Hyatt Place. In addition to his professional career, Gabe is active in his community. With the Human Rights Committee (HRC), he volunteered on the Colorado steering committee and the national board of governors. At the Community College of Aurora, he was the founder and co-faculty advisor for two organizations: the LGBTQA Alliance and the LatinX Alliance.

“I am so excited to start my journey here at Iliff and look forward to meeting and getting to know everyone. I was born in Cali, Colombia but adopted as a baby and grew up in Aurora, CO. I consider myself a bit of a foodie. My husband and I love to try all of the awesome restaurants in Denver and Aurora. I also enjoy volunteering, fashion and movies. I occasionally like to paint and dabble in photography. If I am painting it is always acrylic, and if I am taking photos, they will typically be in black and white.”
