Karen Oliveto is the Bishop of the Mountain Sky Conference of The United Methodist Church. She has served in both rural and campus ministries in rural and urban settings, most recently as the lead pastor of the 12,000 member Glide Memorial in San Francisco. Oliveto has served as the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at Pacific School of Religion, where she also taught United Methodist History/Doctrine/Polity. She has served as an adjunct professor at Iliff, teaching “Prophetic Leadership Through Pastoral Engagement”. She is the author of several books, including her most recent, “Together At the Table”. Oliveto is the first openly LGBTQ bishop in The United Methodist Church.
