With “Innovation” as the theme for Renewal Conference 2020, attendees were treated to an impressive line-up of speakers and panel discussions with daily themes featuring the intersection of theology, faith, and science, making a difference to bring change, and leadership in complex times of division. The lively discussions on innovation centered around critical questions each day. These thought-provoking discussions were complemented by presentations on new ideas on how ministry is done in the world and the ways to serve the world during increasing complicated times.

Bishop Kym Lucas of the Episcopal Church in Colorado provided the opening worship and the Jameson Jones Preacher for 2019, the Right Reverend Bishop Gene Robinson (retired), who is the Vice President and Senior Pastor of the Chautauqua Institution, closed the conference with an inspiring address.

Despite a snowstorm that arrived in Denver on the first day of the conference, it did not dampen the excitement and energy during the three-day conference. In addition to the presentations, attendees also participated in coding workshops, classes, and community gatherings.

The Renewal Conference is Iliff’s annual community gathering to share our work, hear timely messages from a variety of experts, and spend time in fellowship. Each year, the conference focuses on a different overall theme which is relevant to our society in those moments, and each day provides content focused on part of the conference theme.
