Demolition of Taylor Hall Begins – Monday (October 5, 2020)
We knew the day would come. After securing the work permits from the relevant authorities, the demolition contractor and crew arrived with the heavy machinery early morning on Monday October 5, 2020. The parking lot next to Taylor is closed for the next two weeks for the demolition crew to tear down building and hall away the debris. After the building is completed demolished, the site is still closed for another two weeks to prepare and plant the lawn where Taylor Hall once stood. Thank you for all the fond memories, Taylor Hall.
If it is not too painful, here is a time lapse video of the demolition work from start to end..

It is time. After 71 years, Taylor Hall has served as long as it could as home to students and guests of Iliff. The cornerstone was laid in 1949. We will decommission the building and give thanks for all that it has done to offer shelter and home to generations on Monday (July 27) at 11:00 am.
Here are some ways you can mark this transition:
- Think of your experiences in Taylor Hall and give thanks.
- Join President Wolfe and I on Monday outside of Taylor Hall on Monday at 11:00 for a short ceremony.
- Watch the video clip of the ceremony on Facebook and post your own memories on Iliff’s FaceBook page.
There was a time capsule secured into the cornerstone of Taylor Hall. That capsule was opened on Monday (July 27). Here is a video clip of the cornerstone that was removed and the opening of the capsule. Watch the video to find out what was in the time capsule!
May you find your memories of Taylor Hall bless you.
