Join Miguel A. De La Torre on this Religion and the Arts in Italy Trip!
Overview
Step into a living dialogue between faith, beauty, and culture in the heart of Italy. This immersive journey invites you to explore how religion and the arts have been shaped by Italian history, from the medieval period to the contemporary moment. Centered in the Tuscan countryside near Florence, the program blends academic inquiry with on-the-ground encounters with sacred art, architecture, music, food, and daily spiritual life.
From Renaissance masterpieces to street art, monastic frescoes to modern graffiti, participants will examine how theological ideas are expressed, contested, and reimagined through artistic practice. Guided lectures, museum visits, site-specific reflections, and shared meals create a rich learning environment where intellectual curiosity meets lived experience.
Study Christianity and the Arts in Tuscany, with visits to: Florence, Montespertoli, Siena, and San Gimignano.
