The action of Desmond Holly at Evergreen High School has been wrapped in the language of “radicalization” and “extremism” while increasingly being interpreted through the lens of the 1999 Columbine High School Massacre.

Graduate Theological Education for Everyday People

TIER offers theological education to the public outside of a traditional degree program. Our fully online, 3-week intensives allow you to build study into your weekly schedule. Our summer series begins June 10th.

Doctor of Ministry in Prophetic Leadership

The Doctor of Ministry in Prophetic Leadership is designed for leaders with extensive experiences in various contexts who want to further refine their competencies and intersectional leadership skills in the contexts of culturally diverse congregations, organizations, and communities.

Master of Arts in Social Justice and Ethics

The MASJE is a two-year professional degree that helps people engage a complex interdisciplinary analysis of historical and contemporary social change strategies and movements.

Master of Divinity

The M.Div. is a three-year master’s degree that is designed to help people enhance and develop inclusive and justice-oriented ministries in the 21st century. It is the primary degree designed for people pursuing ordained and specialized ministries in congregational, chaplaincy, non-profit and other various contexts.

Black feminist decolonial scholar

Dr. April Mack

A photo of Dr. April Mack smiling at the camera, projecting a sense of confidence and kindness.

April Mack is the Assistant Professor of Religion and Social Justice and the Director of the Master of Social Justice and Ethics Program at Iliff School of Theology.

Dr. Mack describes herself as a Black feminist decolonial scholar and theo-ethicist concerned with ethics related to complex social issues, structural inequality, and wholistic justice and flourishing for Black Americans. Her research focuses on the development of postcolonial womanist theo-ethical discourse within Womanist Ethics. Dr. Mack’s other research interests
include African Americans and Public Policy, Christian Social Ethics, and religious violence.Her signature course on religious violence is called God, Religion, and Violence.
