ILIFF SCHOOL OF THEOLOGY ANNOUNCES THE CREATION OF ITS INSTITUTE FOR RELIGION, POLITICS & CULTURE

Interfaith Leader Reverend Amanda Henderson to Serve as its Director

DENVER, CO. – The Iliff School of Theology today is pleased to announce the creation of the Institute for Religion, Politics & Culture. In addition to conducting research on the way public policy and legislative initiatives are shaped by religion, the Institute will provide programming and consulting to legislators, policy advocates, and the public. The Interfaith Alliance of Colorado is providing funding for the creation of the Institute.

Iliff welcomes Rev. Amanda Henderson as the Institute’s Director, effective January 1, 2021. Henderson has been the Executive Director of the Interfaith Alliance of Colorado for six years. Under her leadership, the Interfaith Alliance Colorado has become one of the most effective advocacy groups in Colorado and nationally.

“Amanda Henderson has an impressive track record of resourcing political leaders and change makers in Colorado,” said Iliff President Rev. Dr. Thomas V. Wolfe. “Her work aligns perfectly with Iliff’s historic commitment to social justice and deep research on religion. The Institute allows Iliff and Amanda to extend the influence of our important work together. We are thrilled to have her lead this new initiative at Iliff.”

“I am grateful for the opportunity to engage in work that gets to the deeper level narratives that shape our political lives. After years of engaging in political and advocacy work, I see the real need to build new understanding if we are to effect lasting social change,” said Henderson.
