March 13, 2020
Dear Members of the Iliff Community:
The health and well-being of our community is a top priority at Iliff. As such, the Senior Leadership Team continues to monitor the development of COVID-19 outbreak and its impact on Iliff and the greater community. Out of an abundance of caution, Iliff will be closing its building between March 16 and March 22. During that week, which coincides with the school’s spring break, Iliff is still operating its business as usual with all employees working remotely. The building will reopen for business on Monday, March 23.
The federal government has released guidance that schools are allowed to make work-study payments to students in “disaster-area” type circumstances. The President’s recent emergency declaration allows for this action. Thus our work-study students can expect to be paid for their scheduled hours even though they will be unable to work them physically.
Iliff’s cleaning team will be disinfecting and sanitizing the building during the week of closure. For the past few weeks, the cleaning team has been disinfecting and sanitizing the building, as per the request of our facilities team. This will continue for the foreseeable future. The Iliff facilities staff is also equipped to perform additional sanitization as needed.
We are constantly monitoring developments to determine if and when further actions are needed. We continue to advise all to follow guidance from WHO and the CDC.
Be well,
Tom
