Prepare to serve in your Denomination or tradition
Vocations in ministry take many forms and are called by a variety of names. Iliff supports preparation for ministry for a number of different vocations through its three professional degree programs, the Master of Divinity, Master of Arts in Social Justice and Ethics, and Master of Arts in Pastoral and Spiritual Care .
Iliff strives for a diverse community that will be supporting, challenging, and transforming. Iliff is related to The United Methodist Church, but its distinctive character is also derived from its commitment as an ecumenical, inter-religious institution. The largest percentage of students comes from The United Methodist Church . However, more than 30 other denominations and faith traditions are represented among the student body. Students from these many traditions attend the same core courses, allowing for lively interdenominational and interfaith discussion. Iliff also offers many courses required by specific denominations in their particular history, doctrine, and polity.
Specific requirements and decisions regarding ordination or other certifications are managed by each denomination. Students are encouraged to learn their denominational processes and requirements and to use this knowledge in selecting their degree program and courses.
While Iliff makes assessments concerning academic preparation, professional skills, and moral and spiritual fitness for ministry, the student”s denomination makes independent judgments about fitness and readiness for ordination, certification and employment

For students in denominations and traditions other than those listed, courses may be provided which deal with the history, doctrine and polity of such denominations.
